Using several tarot decks and one non-tarot deck along with a candle and smudge, we created this altar for Samhain. It reflects the common gifts of our ancestors, how we can carry those gifts into the world in our own lives, and messages for the coming year. It emerged as we drew cards.

It’s beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. I feel it’s important to do something as we enter the time of Samhain. It’s not just one night, but rather a whole season.
Thank you James. Your comment about it being a season helped us take off some personal pressure we’ve felt when Samhain 2012 was approaching. Trying to fit all our ritual obligations into a two day period was a stressing thought and your comments allowed us to re-think and allow ourselves several days to complete rituals.
Hi, Beth and Karen,
We do what we can when we can. Whatever allows us to enter our rituals with presence and respect is a good thing. May your commemmorations of the Sacred be deep.
My ancestors are still waking me up at 3 in the morning James. Samhain is a season as long as the veils between worlds are opened. May your ancestors and mine celebrate this time together.
Indeed, Eimear! I suspect that they’re sharing a beverage and making comments about us at this very moment.
